Founded in Toronto, working across the Greater Toronto Area. Licensed, insured, and quietly obsessive about labelled panels and clean conduit. We started Currentwave because the trade deserved a contractor that took the technical-forward stuff seriously without losing the basics.
Our story
Started in 2018. Still on the tools.
We started Currentwave because the existing electrical landscape in the GTA had two problems. The traditional contractors were good at panels and bad at the smart-home future. The AV companies were good at smart-home demos and bad at the electrical edge cases. Both kept handing customers problems neither side wanted to own.
We built the contractor we wished existed. Licensed electricians who actually understand Lutron commissioning. Smart-home specialists who can pull a permit. EV charger installers who do load calculations because the math determines whether the panel needs work, not the brand of the charger.
Eight years in, we have done the work for over 2,400 GTA households and 80+ commercial sites. Every project labelled, every panel inspected, every customer told the truth about what their service can carry.
How we work
Four principles, no exceptions.
Licensed work, named in writing
Every quote names the licensed electrician on the job and the ECRA / ESA license number it is being done under. No subcontractor surprises.
Math before quotes
Load calculations before EV quotes. Voltage drop calculations on long runs. Conduit fill before we order. The boring math that determines whether the work is right.
Labelled panels, every time
Whatever we touch gets labelled. By the end of the job your panel reads like a legend, not a guess.
Clean conduit, clean drywall
We patch what we cut, sweep what we drop, and leave the site cleaner than we found it. The trade has a reputation. We work the other way.
